NEW PASTOR OPENING
We are a mid-western rural anabaptist church in Southwest Minnesota with an
average attendance of 60-100 people. We have a traditional worship style with some
contemporary elements. We are service-minded and are setting new goals as we
“Seek the Spirit, Live like Jesus, and Proclaim the Gospel” within our community. We
are committed to supporting and nurturing a pastor who will encourage us and walk
along with us as we serve our community.
We are seeking a Full Time Lead Pastor (approx 40-50 hours per week). We are
looking for an individual who loves people - a “people person” who will be excited to
visit, build relationships and seek opportunities to be active in the local community.

willingness to lead and minister according to the “Confession of Faith in a Mennonite
Perspective”

and experience
Ministry Responsibilities:
1. Lead in cooperation with the Deacon Board and will reflect and uphold Bethel
Mennonite Church’s values in relationship to Central Plains Mennonite Conference of

2. Work together with and encourage the church secretary, committees and boards in
their respective work, ministry, and outreach.
3. Public tasks will include: visit and build relationships with church members and
people in the community, preach most Sundays, officiate congregational weddings
and funerals, conduct catechism classes, participate in the local ministerial
association, support and participate in church and community activities.
4. Personal tasks will include: prayer, bible study, spiritual retreats, continuing
education, and professional development.
5. Once a year the Pastor Job description will be reviewed together by pastor and
deacon board and may be modified as needed.
